O.S.C.A.R.S. stands for
"Out of School Care and Recreation Service"

O.S.C.A.R.S. Inc. is a not-for-profit OSHC (Out of School Hours Care) service funded largely through the payment of childcare fees and partly funded through the Family Assistance Office (FAO). O.S.C.A.R.S. is an incorporated body run by a Management Committee that is made up of volunteer parents and staff. Located on the grounds of Unley Primary School, O.S.C.A.R.S. provides Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care. Enrolment for all services is open to the children of Unley Primary School and also the wider community (in accordance with legislation).

O.S.C.A.R.S. Inc. aims to provide a friendly, inclusive and safe home-like environment in which all children are able to play freely. Through a focus on recreational activities, we encourage children to learn new skills, use their own ideas constructively and extend on curricular knowledge acquired at school. The service aims to provide high quality care in all quality areas as specified by the National Childcare Accreditation Council (NCAC).

Our relationship to Unley Primary school is one of independence, however, we encourage and foster a close working relationship with the Principal and staff of the school. The children are encouraged to participate in programmed activities, play sport, practice their instruments, do their homework or just 'hang out' with friends.
